Temperature According to Your Preferences
The thermostat offers a programmable weekly schedule or manual control that maintains a constant room temperature. The optional time schedule can be customized so the thermostat heats the room in the morning when you wake up, reduces underfloor heating when you are at work, and provides a pleasantly warm home again when you return. This way, you can save energy and reduce heating costs by up to 20%.
Room Temperature Control
Every Trivolt thermostat includes a built‑in air temperature sensor that controls underfloor heating to reach the desired temperature. In addition to the internal sensor, a floor temperature sensor is supplied as standard in the package, which limits the maximum temperature. Hygiene standards specify 27 °C, meaning the thermostat heats the floor to 27 °C, then the floor sensor limits heating and waits until heat is transferred into the room. If the room temperature remains below the setpoint, the thermostat switches the heating on again and keeps the floor warm. If the room temperature is equal to the setpoint, the thermostat does not activate heating until the temperature drops below the set value.
Safe Heating System
Trivolt thermostats protect the heating foil installation and will signal an error and switch the heating off if the floor sensor is disconnected or damaged. This ensures that overheating and floor damage do not occur.
Regulation of Underfloor Heating
For electric underfloor heating, control and regulation are crucial parts of the system. A thermostat, smart thermostat, or central control unit ensures a comfortable room temperature, prevents the floor from overheating, and helps save electricity when heating is not needed.
Maintains the desired air temperature in the room.
Limits the maximum floor temperature.
Saves electrical energy.
Control of Heating Foils
With underfloor heating using heating foils, it is necessary to use a thermostat with a floor temperature sensor. If the foils are placed directly under a floating floor, the thermostat switches more often, but the floor heating responds faster. When the foil is embedded in screed, the system becomes more storage‑based and retains heat longer.
The floor temperature sensor limits the maximum temperature and prevents overheating of the floor.
The air temperature sensor in the thermostat switches the heating on as needed.
If the floor is already warm, heating does not switch on again until the heat is transferred to the room and the floor cools.
The hygienic standard for floor temperature is 27 °C.
Control of Heating Mats
A heating mat is a resistive cable pre‑assembled and fixed onto a fibreglass mesh. The mat can be laid directly on the subfloor and tiled over. For faster response, an insulating XPS or styrodur layer of at least 1 cm can be placed under the mat, provided it is heat‑resistant up to 80 °C and firmly bonded to the substrate.
The electric heating mat is installed directly under tiles and embedded in flexible tile adhesive.
It does not increase floor height, so it can be used in almost any space.
It provides rapid floor warming and quick underfloor heating response.
Floor temperature must be controlled using a floor temperature sensor.
Smart Thermostat with WiFi
System operation is simple and allows precise temperature settings for each room. The range includes various electronic thermostats, including app‑controlled and programmable models that let you match heating to your daily routine, such as returning from work or going to bed.
Devices with built‑in WiFi are particularly suitable for cottages or holiday homes, where heating can be switched on remotely via a smartphone app before arrival.
Zonal Temperature Control
Zonal control is a system that allows independent temperature management in each room or area. In the living room you may want a cozy warmth, the bathroom can be preheated to around 24 °C before use, while 19 °C in the bedroom is sufficient for healthy sleep and a guest room can be kept at about 17 °C when not in use.
This flexibility contributes to energy savings, and adjustments can be made in just a few taps on a mobile phone, with potential operating cost reductions of up to 30%. In addition to zoning, using thermostat time programs further reduces energy consumption.
